3-day Angkor Remembrance Festival will begin on December 14
The Government has announced the annual Angkor Remembrance Festival will be held at the Angkor World Heritage Site for three days from December 14-16.
According to a notification issued yesterday by Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona, the APSARA Authority will be in charge of the event, including fixing daily programmes, venue, budget, etc.
As the organiser, the APSARA Authority, in coordination with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, must disseminate the information related to the festival worldwide, and promote it especially among the Cambodian youth to participate in the festival that aims to preserve national heritage.
Cambodia’s famed Angkor Archaeological Park attracted 134,152 foreign tourists in the first nine months of 2022, an increase of 2,075% compared to the same period last year, according to Angkor Enterprise’s report last month.
The national heritage also earned $5.36 million in revenue from ticket sales during the January-September period this year.
