Cambodia sees more than 450,000 tourists on first week of January 2023
Steamrolling ahead of a new Covid-19 variant, the Kingdom’s tourism sector received more than 450,000 tourists throughout the country.
Minister of Tourism Thong Khon reported that from January 2-8, the country received a total of 459,409 tourists, including 415,793 national tourists and 43,616 foreign tourists.
The main tourist destinations are:
Preah Sihanouk with 225,659 tourists
Siem Reap with 47,070 tourists
Phnom Penh with 41,646 tourists
Kampot with 30,408 tourists
Kampong Cham with 16,213 tourists
Battambang with 16,153 tourists.
Minister Khon said that the number of tourists on the first week of 2023 can be considered a good start of the internal tourist flow.
He added that the celebration of the 44th anniversary of the January 7 Victory Day in the capitals, provinces, cities, districts and villages this weekend also contributed to the flow of tourists this weekend.
