Cuisine experience: Cambodia to launch regional food tourism map
Cambodia is preparing to publish a “Cambodian food tourism map” as one of the measures to increase tourist attraction to the country.
In the conference on the achievements and progress of the Ministry of Tourism for five years at the Ministry of Tourism on September 30. Aing Sovannroath Deputy Director General of the General Department of Tourism Development and International Cooperation, said that soon the Ministry will launch the food map.
“In the near future, we will publish a map of Cambodian food tourism, that in Cambodia, some provinces have food potential, for example, in Battambang there is mee kola,” he said.
He added that currently, the Ministry has gradually organized and will soon publish a booklet or pocket guidebook to be distributed to all tourists in the tourist information centres in all capitals and provinces.
Sovannroath stated that the food tourism map will make it easier for visitors to understand of the regional foods. He stressed that food tourism is a huge potential for each destination and it is also a sub-sector in tourism and culture that is very attractive for tourists.
