During the 3 days of Chinese New Year, Cambodia received nearly 900,000 tourists
According to a report received from the Provincial Department of Tourism, on the occasion of the three-day Chinese-Vietnamese New Year (February 12-14, 2021), Cambodia received a total of 892,638 tourists, a decrease 2.23% compared to 2020, of which: about 880,553 national visitors, an increase of 6.05% (compared to the Chinese New Year 2020) and about 12,085 foreign visitors, a decrease of 85.40% (compared to the Chinese New Year 2020).
In total, the number of guests per day includes:
On the 1st day (12th February 2021): Total 205,075 guests
On the 2nd day (13th February 2021): A total of 408,521 guests
On the 3rd day (14th February 2021): A total of 279,042 guests

- Phnom Penh: 118,502 people
- Siem Reap Province: 117,789 people
- Kampot Province: 102,026 people
- Kep Province: 92,804 people
- Preah Sihanouk Province: 82,065 people
- Kandal Province: 72,510 people
- Battambang Province: 62,464 people
- Koh Kong Province: 35,225 people
- Kampong Speu Province: 29,770 people
- Pursat Province: 24,723 people
It is worth noting the following daily highlights:
Preliminary assessment: Tourist spending seems to be lower than in previous holidays, with some of them choosing to travel a one-day trip to nearby destinations in the morning and return in the evening). However, the influx of tourists to all tourist destinations in the provincial capitals remains an important driver in part supporting the tourism sector and generating income for the local people and the private sector as well.
All tourism destinations have tried to follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the tourism safety regulations of the Ministry of Tourism to prevent the spread of COVID-19 under the guidance and direct inspection to the provincial governors and local authorities.
