Ministry of Tourism promotes establishment of smoke-free environment in tourism sector
The Ministry of Tourism has set guidelines for the establishment of a smoke-free tourism city in order to promote the implementation of a smoke-free environment in tourism and protect tourism from the effects of the use of tobacco products.
Hor Sarun, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, said that the Ministry of Tourism is considering the impact of the use of tobacco products, especially in the tourism sector and has done a lot of work to reduce this impact on health, economy, society and the environment through building a smoke-free tourism industry.
He added that in the past, the Ministry of Tourism has disseminated and raised awareness of laws and regulations related to the control of tobacco products among tourism businesses and encouraged all to participate. The Ministry of Tourism has also presented awards and commendations to tourism service businesses that have excelled in implementing a smoke-free environment.
Sarun also stated that the introduction of the guidelines on the establishment of a smoke-free tourism city will strengthen the implementation of minimum standard operating procedures on the implementation of a smoke-free environment in tourism, as well as facilitate the participation of municipal, district and Khan administrations.
