The 4th Inter-governmental Conference on Angkor and Sambo Prei Kuk to be held at UNESCO Headquarters
Taking advantage of the 45th Session of the World Heritage Committee in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dr. Hang Peou, Director General of APSARA National Authority, Phan Nadi, together with the Permanent Scientific Secretary of the ICC-Angkor and Sambo Prei Kuk met with Lazare Eloundou Assomo, President of the UNESCO Heritage Centre to discuss the preparations for the 4th Inter-governmental Conference on Angkor to be held on 15 November 2023 at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France.
This Inter-governmental Conference is designed to set policies and directions for strengthening the effectiveness of good governance, the conservation, and sustainable development of Angkor and Sambor Prei Kuk.
It should be noted that the ICC-Angkor was first held in 1993 in Tokyo, Japan, the second in 2003 in Paris, France, and the third in 2013 in Cambodia. In 2019, the committee was expanded to include the Sambor Prei Kuk site, renaming it the ICC-Angkor and Sambo Prei Kuk. Apsara Authority
