Thousands expected to attend 2022 Sea Festival

Some 1,300 delegates will be attending the 2022 Sea Festival and the World Clean Beach Club General Assembly in Sihanoukville.

Long Dimanche, deputy governor of Preah Sihanouk Province, said 25 countries will be sending delegations.

He said preparations for both events, among others, security, accommodation, concerts and other logistics are in place.

“We are also studying ways to minimise overcrowding,” he said.

“Everything is almost in place for us to host the events,” he added.

The 9th Sea Festival, the third edition, will be held from December 9 to 11 and the World Clean Beach Club General Assembly is from December 9 to 14.

On Wednesday evening last week, Minister of Tourism Thong Khon chaired a meeting at Sihanoukville Provincial Hall to review the progress of preparations for the events.

Khon said more than 1,300 high-level national and international delegates from about 25 countries would be attending the Sea Festival and the World Clean Beach Club General Assembly.
