Garden of treasures
Amid the threat of trafficking in various forms to neighbouring countries especially Thailand and Vietnam over the years, the Sok An Phnom Kulen Orchid Research and Conservation Centre plays an important role in conserving orchid species which are collected from across the Kingdom.
The Ministry of Environment estimates there are about 500 different orchid species in the Kingdom’s natural forests Khmer Times’ National Editor Ben Sokhean visited the Centre during a media tour to the first-ever orchid centre in the country last week.
