Preah Vihear Authority gathers input for 10-year tourism plan
The National Authority for Preah Vihear (NAPV) and several partners recently held a five-day conference to prepare its 10-year 2024-33 tourism development plan for the Preah Vihear Temple.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, during the August 18-22 conference, the NAPV coordinated with two specialists and discussed the plan with several participants, including local communities, monks, commune and district authorities and school principals in order to gather input.
Also participating in the discussion were officials from the provincial departments of Tourism; Culture; Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; Rural Development, and Environment.
The NAPV explained that the participants deliberated over their vision for tourism development, development plans at local, district and provincial levels, local traditions and job creation in the community.
They also highlighted the potential of tourism destinations in Choam Ksan district, tourist services and major upcoming tourist events in Preah Vihear province.
Prior to the conference, the participants visited several tourist destinations in Choam Ksan district.
