The Royal Government of Cambodia will consider accepting vaccinated tourists to visit Siem Reap - Angkor starting on the fourth quarter of 2021
(Phnom Penh): The Royal Government of Cambodia will consider accepting international tourists who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 to visit Siem Reap-Angkor and its surrounding destinations in the fourth quarter of 2021 while the situation in community is getting better and under good management along with the vaccination’s speeding up process for government officials, civil servants, tourism industry employees and personnel and the private sectors.
This is according to His ExcellencyDr. Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism, who informed Fresh News on April 7, 2021.
The Minister’s request to Samdech Techo Hun Sen will allow the Ministry of Tourism to start discussions with the Ministry of Health (Commission on Affairs), relevant ministries, institutions, provincial administrations and the private sectors to study the possibility of opening of tour packages for tourists who have already vaccinated and itineraries to Cambodia in the fourth quarter of 2021 or in the future. This may show a new currency in traveling from tourists with warm confidence.
The detail of these tour packages will include the following principles:
1: Build Trust and Confident
2: Quality, service and reasonable price
3. Facilitate travel through international gates that must comply with both health’s protocols and conveniency. He said the case could be the start of discussions about arranging tour packages for vaccinated tourists, especially for tourists traveling on non-transit (direct flights) or considering taking buses from neighboring countries.
Minister further stated that this consideration was in line with the implementation of the action plan of the "Roadmap for the Restart of Cambodia's Tourism in the post COVID-19 Crisis" which was recently approved by the Royal Government of Cambodia.
