Tourists show appreciation when walking across Angkor Wat’s western causeway
After the completion of the renovation and inauguration, hundreds of national and international tourists cross Angkor Wat’s western causeway every day to visit Angkor Wat. The tourists appreciate the APSARA National Authority for its hard work to restore and maintenance of this western causeway. In addition, tourists also show pride in this Khmer ancestral heritage.
Kay Kan, 78, from Kampong Thom province, expressed his happiness after walking across the causeway again, describing that he had been crossing it since 2005 when it collapsed and was difficult to travel. But now he steps on the ancient causeway again, seeing that it is strong and makes it easier for tourists to visit Angkor Wat.
Another resident of Kandal province, Ms. NouYorn, said that Angkor Wat’s western causeway is beautiful and more accessible to walk than before. She believes that the renovation of the causeway will preserve the work of the Khmer ancestors for future generations.
Ms. Linda and Ms. Hidi, Americans who crossed Angkor Wat’s western causeway for the first time, expressed great interest in constructing this wonderful ancient temple of Cambodia, especially the repair and maintenance of this causeway.
