Charming temple beckons

Banteay Thom is a charming temple where the principal appeal is its rural setting in Angkor Park. Tourists can reach it by sandy tracks through paddy and scrubland. The temple is in a rather dilapidated state, but two central towers still survive along with a ruined library, a well-kept eastern gopura, apsaras and tapestries reliefs, and a surrounding covered walkway with some sections of the roof. All pictures by Apsara National Authority.
