The memorial of the late King Norodom Sihanouk is located across the road from where the Independence Momument stands. Standing at 27 meter tall, the memorial attracts many tourists and has appeared in many selfies and shared around the world.
A 4.5 meters tall bronze statue of the late king Norodom Sihanouk in business suit, stands tall inside the shrine.
The late Norodom Sihanouk passed away on 15 October, 2012 in Beijing, China, survived by his wife, the queen mother of Cambodia, Norodom Monineath and his son, King Norodom Sihamoni, the present king of Cambodia.
